An opening meeting, as a part of audit, is held under the chairman of audit team leader to brief organisation’s management and processes responsibles within the scope of audit plan, audit process, requirements, finding categorization and reporting.
Audit is performed as per AS/EN 9100 standard requirements under the predetermined audit plan scope. Each process is audited at its location by sampling method. Uncompliences are reported under the major and minör categorization.
Nonconformity report is raised by giving statement of nonconformity, objective evidence(s) and requirement violated.
A non-fulfillment of a requirement which is likely to result in the failure of the QMS or reduce its ability to assure controlled processes or compliant products/services shall imply a major nonconformance. Other single system failure or lapse shall be reported as minor but a number of minor nonconformities against one requirement is escalated to major nonconformity.
Recurrence of the same or similar nonconformity found during consecutive audits is considered as a major nonconformity against the corrective action process.
A ‘major nonconformity shall be issued when the effectiveness level of the process is rated a “1” as per process evaluation matrix given in PEAR.
Recurrence of the same or similar nonconformity found during consecutive audits shall be considered as a major nonconformity against the corrective action process.
Response of organisation for containment action in 7 calender days, for corrective action plan in 30 calender days and closing of nonconformities in 60 calender days is required. Exceding of those durations triggers a process which may be ended up with certificate withdrawal.
Major nonconformity is, in general, subject to a follow-up audit to evaluate the action(s) taken at the organization’s site and closed if acceptable.
A closing meeting after completion of audit is held by the audit team leader to brief the organization management and processes responsibles regarding the audit findings, nonconformity management, if applicable, and post-audit activities.
